Unlike many other Caribbean destinations, many of Roatan’s reefs have broad shallow terrace of lettuce coral and are edged by dramatic vertical drop-offs starting in only 15 – 20 feet underneath water. The lush fringing reefs offer great topographically diverse snorkeling opportunities in the Western Hemisphere. Besides the sponges, sea fans and gorgonians offer lush and colourful vistas for snorkeler to enjoy every moment of his stay under water. Also amidst the coral lies a great diversity of fish.
